2099 Pennsylvania Avenue was developed by The Kaempfer Company and designed by Harry Cobb, design partner of the internationally acclaimed architectural firm Pei, Cobb, Freed & Partners. Completed in December 2000, the building combines a premier Pennsylvania Avenue address in the nation's capital, the unique design of its renowned architect, and all of the finest amenities of a modern, first class office building.

This new first class building consists of approximately 200,000 square feet of rentable office and storage space with twelve floors above-grade, one finished level below-grade and three levels of underground parking. It offers state of the art mechanical systems and efficient floor plates to complement the magnificent views of Pennsylvania Avenue unparalleled in most Washington office buildings. Its design not only appeals to high quality tenants, but strives to make a special contribution to Pennsylvania Avenue. The building offers an array of features and amenities including on-site management, a fully equipped fitness center, a rooftop terrace, and underground parking

2099 Pennsylvania Avenue was 100% pre-leased six months prior to the completion of construction to the following prestigious tenants: the national law firm of Holland & Knight LLP , the Danaher Corporation, Perseus LLC, and The Summit Charitable Foundation, Inc. The parking garage is leased to and operated by Colonial Parking, Inc.

In September of 2001, 2099 Pennsylvania Avenue was acquired by a partnership consisting of The Kaempfer Company and US Office Holdings, L.P., a closed-end real estate fund managed by Blue Capital Investments, Inc., an indirect subsidiary of Vereins- und Westbank AG, Hamburg, which is a member of HypoVereinsbank Group, Germany's 2nd largest private-sector banking institution. The building was sold by 2099 Pennsylvania Avenue, L.P., a joint venture consisting of The Kaempfer Company and Real Estate Capital Partners, a New York based international real estate advisor focusing on opportunistic investments. The Kaempfer Company will continue to lease and manage the building on a day-to-day basis.
